Price Analysis august 12th, 2025 - BTC, DOGE, BNB, ETH, and XRP

While Bitcoin succeeded in crossing above the $122,000 resistance level on Monday, the bulls failed to sustain momentum as the bears aggressively blocked a move to $123,214, the all-time high. However, this crucial level could be retested soon, thanks to the positive CPI data released on August 12th, showing that US inflation in June was lower than expected.

When inflation declines, market participants usually anticipate a rate cut, which is bullish for digital assets. But whether the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in September remains to be seen.

Another factor that could propel Bitcoin to $123,214 is increased institutional interest. Data from SoSoValue reveals that BTC Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have handled inflows worth over $1.5 billion since last Thursday. Similarly, Ethereum ETFs have processed $1.13 billion in investors’ funds over the past 24 hours. This has fueled a rally in ETH, surging to $4,400 for the first time since late 2021.

Interestingly, BitMEX founder Arthur Hayes had dumped his 2,373 Ether holding at an average price of $3,504 last week, claiming that a significant pullback was imminent. He then bought the same ETH amount at $4,152 over the weekend, according to his X post.

That said, will the bullish CPI report and rising institutional demand push Bitcoin and altcoins higher this month? If so, which key barriers must we monitor? Let’s find out by looking at the charts.

Bitcoin Price Analysis

Bitcoin reached $122,300 at the start of the week but has since reversed to $119,036 at press time. If the bears continue to book profits, the coin could slide to the 20-day Simple Moving Average of $116,785, where buying activity could accelerate as the bulls attempt to prevent a downward move to the $112,000 support.

Meanwhile, a jump above $120,000 could improve the bulls’ chances of thrusting Bitcoin above $123,214 and triggering another rally to $130,000 and later to $134,508.

Ethereum Price Analysis

After surpassing the $3,740 resistance level last Thursday, Ethereum gained momentum, rallying to $4,400 as of this writing. Positive investor sentiment on the asset could fuel the rally further toward the all-time high of $4,860. However, if ETH bears pull and drop it below $4,000, then we may see a decline to the 20-day Simple Moving Average of $3,795. Even worse, a break below $3,740 could trigger a pullback to the $3,352 support.

XRP Price Prediction

XRP rallied 10% on Thursday after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the token’s issuer, Ripple, announced they had dropped their appeals, ending a court battle that began in 2020 when the American regulator accused Ripple of violating securities rules through the sale of the XRP tokens.

However, the bulls have failed to build on the momentum, as the bears guard key resistance levels. The good news is that XRP is still trading above the 20-day Simple Moving Average of $3.11, enhancing the possibility of a move to $3.37 and then to the all-time high of $3.64.

On the other hand, if $3.11 collapses, the bears could become stronger, giving them a golden opportunity to pull XRP to the $2.90 support.

BNB Price Analysis

BNB has cooled down following its massive rally to $853 at the end of July. While short-term traders have been taking profits, the selling pressure hasn’t been enough to cause key support levels to collapse. The Binance Coin trades above the $750 support, signaling that the bulls haven’t exited the market. If bullish momentum picks up, $820 may crumble, making way for a price pump to $853 and then to $870.

Dogecoin Price Analysis

The bulls are still defending the 20-day Simple Moving Average of $0.2201 to strengthen their position. If they apply pressure now, Dogecoin could see its price rise to the $0.2613 resistance. However, the bears are likely to drag the leading meme coin to the 50-day Simple Moving Average of $0.2006 if the bulls let $0.2201 collapse.
